Ein paranormaler Void ist eine Person, die anderen die Magie und sogar das Leben wegnehmen kann. Weshalb diese übermächtigen Leute gefürchtet und gehasst werden. Seit diese Fähigkeit bei der vorher vielversprechenden 18-jährigen Devicka Cainson zum Vorschein kam, gilt sie als verachtenswert und wird von der magischen Gemeinschaft ferngehalten. Geholt wird sie nur, wenn sie einem Krimiellen die Magie entreissen soll. Als herauskommt, dass sie die Magie zwischen Leuten austauschen kann, kommt sie in den Fokus des regierenden Rates. Und damit auch in die Nähe der vier mächtigen und attraktiven Nachfolger.Die Story ist an sich recht gut und interessant aufgebaut, die Verzweiflung der Hauptprotagonistin ist spürbar und lässt mitfühlen. Etwas zu extrem ist die Leidenshaltung der dauerweichen Devicka, die sich nicht gegen die extremen Ungerechtigkeiten wehrt und alles mit sich machen lässt. Und dies mit starken Eltern. Ebenso krass ist der Wechsel von extremer Abneigung zu unüberwindbarer sexueller Attraktion und sogar Liebe. Und dies zu vier Kerlen gleichzeitig. Das geht mir zu schnell und ist nicht glaubwürdig. Der Schluss enttäuscht und ist zu billig, alles geht plötzlich auf und alle sind glücklich.

This book has been an unexpected treat sent by the gods of paranormal and romance! The blurb was vague; and so I dove in blind. And I had the best surprise ever!The brilliance of the story line, of the world building made me want to just stay in there and for this book to have a next installment. I thought I've read it all when it comes to PNR but boy was I wrong. There's a light bullying but nothing that will make your stomach knot. I like how the author makes you realise that self acceptance is important as well as how prejudice thinking affects others. The characters, especially the heroine made me feel strongly for her. I feel her pain, her frustrations, her self-loathing and finally, her self-love. The story consumed me from the first up to the last page. I enjoyed every minute I spent in this world. And if I could come back again, I so would.
Void is an engrossing and consuming dive into Devicka's world. I began reading and the first time I came up for air and looked around (in what felt like only a few minutes), I was already on Chapter 5. Devicka has been treated poorly for most of her life except by a very limited number of people, but she continues to hope and to show others the compassion and kindness that is often denied to her. Ultimately, that is what I loved the most about Void, Devicka's heart. The 4 paragons who are drawn to Devicka are powerful and complex and Hyde is hands down my favorite. The world-building is detailed and interesting, the pacing of this book is just spot-on, and even when my heart was breaking and I wanted to scream at the unfairness, I loved every second of Void. No spoilers, but I was completely satisfied and happy with how the story concludes also.At the time I'm writing this review, bully romance is hot and I know that it's not for everyone. If it's not for you, but you're reading reviews to see if you might try it anyway, go ahead and give it a shot. Personally, I'm not as much of a fan of bully romances as some other readers. How these 2 authors approach them, I love, and the bully-style romances I have read that they've co-written are fantastic.
Fist thing to mention is I believe this was placed in the Bully Romance category but honestly the bullying is very light compared to the books I have read that fall under this genre, so if you are turned off from the hard bully romance books then you may still enjoy this one.With so many reviews I am going to do the cliff note version review. Story line is phenomenal, plot was well executed and the characters are nicely built along with the interactions among them.Devicka your MC was forced out of the supe community she grew up in as a child and forced out to the human world once her powers came to and became known as the "Void". The Void is known to strip a supe from their powers and therefore just like a human or worse, killing them. Her mother despises her and the Counsel uses her as a weapon or tool to punish whom ever they want while treating her like trash.A turn of event occurs and the counsel sends her to a school full of supe's in order to have Devicka learn how to control her powers while being babysat by the four Paragons (Paragons are basically the most powerful individuals in their species and are groomed to become the future Council Leaders)who all hate her and want nothing to do with her, that is at least in the beginning. The four Paragons are;Render- belongs to the Vampire speciesHyde- Necromancer and out of the four Paragons he understands Devicka the most and hates her the least of the them all.Quade- Elemental Witch and childhood friend as well as first crush.Gritt- Shifter who probably hates her the most.The relationships between MC and Paragons change and I love how the authors write how the relationships develop and why.I really could go on and on about what I enjoyed and swoon about this novel but then again it would ruin it by me telling you basically the whole story. So just one click this baby and enjoy not wanting or able to put this book down until you have read the first to last page.
TBH I'm hardly a fan of bully romance but after picking up a sample of this book I just had to have it and I have no regrets. It's definitely still a difficult one to read because of the themes, but it's worth every penny and time, and I'm so happy that it's a stand alone too
Wow, this was a truly GREAT story and I absolutely loved it! The plot is totally new, at least to me, and the characters are fantastic. I had been reading a few RH books lately but most of them were bully romances also, and I gotta say that this one did not strike me anywhere as poorly as some of those others have.There isn't really much bullying going on here except by one of the supernatural factions, who literally tried to kill the h. Not going to say more about the plot, but hopefully you can see why I loved this story so much. Just a fantastic story.From a character perspective I loved the h and her mates. One of the supes had a "girlfriend" who was a total b!tch and that's probably my only complaint. No retribution against her, but you can't have everything I guess!Highly recommended !!!!!
